Dido Walker, ( Evans), grew up in Tunbridge Wells, Kent . She attended Tunbridge Wells Grammar School. She drew her early inspiration from the scholarship of certain teachers and her theatrical mother, Rosa Nina Shenning who went to RADA. They aroused in her a lively, intellectual curiosity, as well as an abiding passion for Shakespeare, The Metaphysical Poets, The Romantic Poets and many pre and post-war Twentieth Century Poets.
During her travels in America, Asia and Europe, Dido met many people from all walks of life who inspired her writing. In her twenties Dido temporarily eschewed materialism and explored alternative lifestyles after leaving school. She reconnected with outside society and her real family in her late twenties. In her thirties she married Siyuan, a free-thinking Chinese Dissident. Ever since then Dido has grown correspondingly passionate about the wider issues of intellectual freedom and creativity, human rights, democracy, peace and the universal education of all those underprivileged worldwide.
Dido's writing is sometimes about empathizing with and transcending suffering and repression in all its forms. It is also about connecting with the enduring threads of love and humanity that hold together the complex human tapestry of our world. Dido has worked in the Publishing and Teaching industry . During her second marriage she had one son, Roland, of whom she is really proud.
